I recently published an article on the most important questions you need to ask your future college roommate. However, I always planned on creating a college roommate questionnaire that is still important, but not as crucial as the ones in my previous list. I want you to get to know your roommates and also get along with them. This college roommate questionnaire will definitely help you feel more comfortable living with someone new.
Getting to know your roommates is one of the first experiences that I remember having as a college student. For me, my roommate was one of my best friends freshman year and her sister was like my mentor and bonus sister on campus. I’ve never admitted this to them but I think one of the reasons my college life was so great was because of the people I lived with! Not only my college freshman roommate, but my hallmates were incredible as well. We went to freshman events together, got involved on campus together, and even had some of the same classes.
All of my favorite relationships on campus started by asking a question. Breaking that barrier of awkward nervousness between you and another freshman can quite literally change the trajectory of your college experience. Honestly, I wouldn’t have had half of the experiences I did if I didn’t talk to get to know the people I lived with. So, really use this college roommate questionnaire. Make the most of this new college experience.
All of these questions will help you get to know your roommate more and figure out if there are things you would both be interested in doing and joining on campus. It never hurts to make an effort to get to know someone, especially your college roommate.
So, let me know if you found this college roommate questionnaire helpful! Also, let me know of other great questions to ask your roommate. Remember that college is a new experience for most, so that is already something you can bond over. Just be yourself, open up a little, and make sure you feel comfortable.
