Everyone can use a little more “me” time. But I don’t just mean sinking into the couch, watching TV, and eating chips and ice cream. I mean really taking yourself out and treating yourself to a fun and fulfilling experience with fun solo date ideas.
We are constantly going, going, going, trying to live our lives, make a good living, and make time for family and friends, but when is the last time you sat down and said hey… I’ve been really wanting to do [insert activity]. I’m not going to wait for anyone in order to go enjoy this activity.
At the end of the day, the only person who can truly make you happy is well… YOU. Just as you’d stretch a muscle, you must take yourself out every once in a while to strengthen your connection with yourself. Remember who you are. And focus on what makes you happy.
Dating yourself using these solo date ideas, allows you to reconnect with yourself and add more joy into your life.
Find a coffee shop and read: Take a book you’ve been reading or one you’ve been meaning to get to and read at a coffee shop.
Go candle shopping or home decor shopping: Every time I go into Target, I feel happier. Can you relate? I love browsing the carefully curated home goods at different stores. It brings me joy and gives me great ideas on how I wanna decorate my future place!
Take scenic pictures: Go for a walk and take a picture of the sunrise or sunset.
Get brunch, lunch or dinner: One of my favorite weekend things to do is go for brunch on the weekends with my friends since that’s when we are all free. So treating yourself to your favorite brunch spot will fill you with happiness and delicious food.
Go to the movies: When I worked at a movie theater in high school, oftentimes I’d check out movies by myself. However, I haven’t done it in so long! Is there a movie you wanna check out? Don’t wait for friends or dates to be ready, do it on your own!
Get a massage: One of the most relaxing “me time” solo dates to make you feel comfortable and treated like a queen! (or king).
Bake a cake: I love cooking and baking, and I recently purchased some cookbooks. Put on some jazz try a new recipe and enjoy a sweet treat that was made with love.
Drink wine and watch a movie: I have so many shows on my list I want to watch. Pop some popcorn, pour some wine, and enjoy the cinema at home.
Go on a sunset walk: Take a sunset walk and turn your phone notifications OFF! Be present with your surroundings and clear your mind of any worries from the day.
Cleaning date: Maybe not the most glamorous, but cleaning can be therapeutic and help you have a clearer mind. Pick a spot to clean and tidy up!
Go to the nail salon: Book a time to go relax in the massage chairs while you get a mani-pedi.
Do a puzzle or legos: These activities can bring out your inner child. Have fun putting a puzzle together or lego set and put on a chill show you can have as background noise. My background noise shows are Parks and Rec, Craig of the Creek, Bobs Burgers, etc…
Take a weekend trip: Take a weekend trip to a fun place where you can relax and be treated like royalty.
Have a photoshoot: My best friend had a photo shoot for her birthday where she dressed up and had a full day dedicated to empowering and celebrating herself and her body. It was beautiful!
DIY Spa Day: You can get cozy and take a long relaxing bath, put on a face mask, and listen to calming music.
Go to the beach: If you live near a beach, spend the day by the sea and relax with a book in hand listening to the soft crashing waves.

Travel solo: It can be a day trip or a weekend trip! Go have an adventure in a new place and enjoy what that city has to offer!

Go to a hotel: Sometimes just getting out of your environment can be refreshing. If you want to get away, order room service, and not have to worry about cleaning and cooking, take a night away.
Create a scrapbook: Reflect on experiences and people you’ve seen lately and make a scrapbook out of them! Get your favorite pictures from the past few weeks or months, print them out, and put them in a scrapbook to always have something to look at and just brighten your day.
Try a new gym! Or gym class! I’ve been wanting to try pilates for a while now… And I’d love to spend a day trying it out and taking a proper class. Working out releases the feel good hormones… endorphins! Pick a type of workout and book a trial class.

Learn something new: If there is a skill you’ve been wanting to learn, find books, YouTube videos, and forums to learn a new skill or learn about a new topic.
Go to an estate sale: One of my favorite actual dates was when I went to an estate sale with this guy. It was oddly… romantic? It was a home that was so beautiful and big and we were browsing through kind of like it was our home? Am I doing too much? HA. But going to an estate sale can be super relaxing and fun and they typically sell things at a much lower price.
DIY projects: One DIY project I wanna do is make a modern art piece painting for wall decor. Like legit high-class looking art. Here’s an example:
Binge a TV series: I don’t watch tooo much TV as of late… So, spend time to spoil yourself and dive into a new world, and release all your worries. My guilty pleasure shows at the moment are Emily in Paris and Vanderpump Rules.
