Most Productive Things To Do On Your Way To Class

Getting to class is one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s one of the only times I don’t have to do homework, work on projects, or do organization-related tasks. How I spend my time getting to class differs most of the time. But you would be shocked at how many things you can do to get you pumped to learn or just put you in a better mood! There are so many productive things to do on the way to class!

The purpose of this post is to give you some very neat ideas to spend your time wisely, not mindlessly. Time is so precious so when you have an opportunity to get something done, or do something that makes you feel better about the day – do it. This post is all about productive things to do on your way to class.

Listen to a Podcast

I have been loving podcasts recently. There are soooo many good ones. Check out my post. here for the best motivational and mindset podcasts that I have come across which are constantly updated when I come across new finds!

Listening to a podcast whether it be funny like the H3 podcast or something educational and insanely interesting such as Science Vs or Unexplained Mysteries is a great way to learn something new or just have a good laugh before class.

Call a Friend

College life is busy! Thankfully, you have a friend or two that help you through this crazy journey that will lead you to your dream job. I definitely have a couple of Snapchat streaks going with people I haven’t seen in years and with people I used to see every single day in college. Which is a great way to stay connected to the people you love.

Since I haven’t been able to see many of my friends, I love to chat with them during my off time. We catch up on our lives and it honestly puts me in a great mood talking to people I care about and who I know care about me. Don’t ever underestimate the power of a simple phone call. The thought of someone even thinking to check up on me makes me feel incredibly grateful for the people I surround myself with!

Call a Family Member

One thing that I am trying to do this year is talking to family members more often. I talk to my immediate family members every day. However, all of my extended family live in different parts of the country and I want to put in the effort to get to know them more.

Listen to an Audiobook

Another resolution that I have for this year is to read more books. What better way to get through a couple of pages (or even a chapter if you commute as I do) than on your way to class?

I’m not gonna lie, I love to save money. If you’re a college student like I am, you are trying to learn more things and gain knowledge without the cost of a monthly subscription from Audible. So I have already used two free trials for Audible. Plus, many audiobooks I want to get through are on YouTube. Thankfully people upload books all different subjects on YouTube. Check it out!

Listen to a Lecture

This is such a good way to prepare for class! You can watch a video on the lecture topic or watch/listen to a previous lecture. This is not only helpful for you, but you may have classes with pop quizzes and constantly refreshing yourself on the content in class can be an immense sigh of relief.

Listen to Music

I love listening to music! One of my only subscriptions I will pay for is Spotify! Music is such a way to get you in a good mood and it’s such a nice way to enjoy your walk or commute to class.

Walk With a Friend or Roommate

My schedule was always so different than my friends so I only had a couple of semesters where my friends and I were going in the same direction at the same time. If you do have a roommate, friend, or even an acquaintance from the class you can walk with, do it! Making new connections and friends is so energizing and it’s so refreshing to learn more about someone new.

Look for Job Listings/Internship Opportunities

College might be four years, but it goes by soo quickly… trust me. So if you can find times where you can set your future up for success, do it. Being ahead of the game in terms of work experience and internship opportunities will be SO good on your resume.

Grab a Snack

This may sound ridiculous if you’re not in college yet, but sometimes I forget to eat. I always have a snack in my backpack but sometimes I forget to replace the one I ate. So heading to the campus store or a restaurant on campus can be so helpful. When I am hungry, I cannot focus or do my work. So make sure you are eating and drinking water often!

It doesn’t matter if you have a 10-minute walk or a 30-minute drive, there are so many things you can do to be productive. Obviously, not all of these can be done while driving, but you can definitely still be ahead of the game and closer to reaching your goals! Use your time wisely, and find things that genuinely bring a smile to your face.
